Boiled Chickpeas

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (190g) chickpeas
  • 3 cups (720ml) water (for soaking)
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 6 cups (1.5l) water (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Soak chickpeas in water with baking soda for 8–12 hours.
  2. Drain water, rinse chickpeas, place in a big pot with water.
  3. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover with a lid.
  4. Cook for 1 hour 30 minutes until soft.
  5. Drain the water.
