Black Bean Burger Patties

Ingredients

  • cup (60g) walnuts
  • cup (60g) rolled oats
  • 1⅔ cups (270g) black beans (cooked)
  • ½ cup (65g) onion
  • 9 g garlic
  • 1 tbsp (20g) soy sauce
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Soak walnuts in water for 8-12 hours.
  2. Drain water, rinse, dry, place in food processor.
  3. Add rolled oats, process until finely ground.
  4. Add beans, onion, garlic, soy sauce, spices, and salt.
  5. Blend until smooth, cover, refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  6. Form patties 120 g (½ cup) each.
  7. Fry in oil over medium heat for 3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  8. Place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake in the oven at 180°C (355°F) for 10 minutes or in air fryer at 170°C (340°F) for 8 minutes.
